Citacious Just Got a Lot Smarter And She Actually Knows Your Brand Now

SYS_RENDER_OK|NODE_1856

We completely rethought how Citacious works. She now reads your live account data before every conversation — your citation scores, your vault facts, your competitors — and gives you advice that's actually specific to your situation.

She Knows Who You Are Now

When we first launched Citacious, she was helpful but generic. She could explain GEO concepts, walk you through the platform, and answer questions — but she didn't really know you. Every conversation started from scratch. She didn't know your brand name, she hadn't seen your Citation Probe results, and she had no idea whether you were a first-time user trying to understand what GEO even is, or an experienced marketer who just wanted to know why your Perplexity score dipped last week.

That's changed completely. We've shipped a major upgrade to how Citacious works under the hood, and honestly, it feels like the difference between talking to a helpful stranger and talking to someone who's been watching your dashboard with you for months.

What's Actually Different

The biggest change is that Citacious now reads your live account data before she says a single word to you. The moment you open the chat, she's already looked at:

  • Your brand name and domain
  • Your Citation Probe history — how many queries you're being cited on, which ones you're missing, and whether your rate is trending up or down
  • Your Knowledge Vault facts — how many you've added and what they say
  • Your competitors and how they're tracked
  • Whether you've generated any GEO articles yet
  • Your latest Share of Voice metrics

She uses all of that to decide what you actually need help with right now. Not what a hypothetical Auspexi user might need — you, specifically.

The Quest Stage System

One thing we're particularly proud of is what we call Quest Stages. Instead of giving every user the same generic advice, Citacious figures out exactly where you are in your GEO journey and meets you there.

If you've just signed up and haven't set up your brand yet, she won't immediately launch into a lecture about semantic anchors. She'll ask you what your business does, who your customers are, and then guide you to Settings to get the basics in place. She explains why each step matters before asking you to do it — because if you don't understand why you're doing something, you won't actually do it.

If you've got your brand configured but haven't run a Citation Probe yet, she knows that's your most urgent next step. She'll explain what the probe does, what a baseline looks like, and what to do with the results.

If your vault is empty, she'll tell you that's the gap that's holding you back from better citation rates. If you've got articles generated but haven't published them, she'll explain why that last step is critical — the AI engines can't index content that isn't live.

Each stage has its own specific guidance, and Citacious knows which one you're in without you having to explain anything.

A Better Experience for Business Owners Who Are New to GEO

One thing we hear a lot is that GEO can feel intimidating if you're coming to it fresh. Terms like "latent space," "semantic anchors," and "knowledge graphs" don't mean much if you've never heard them before, and the last thing a small business owner needs is to feel like they need a computer science degree to use a marketing tool.

Citacious now leads with plain language first. If you're new and you ask her what GEO is, she'll say something like: "When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a recommendation in your category, GEO is what determines whether the AI names your brand or your competitor." That's it. One sentence. Then she asks about your business and goes from there.

The jargon still exists — it's useful shorthand once you know what it means — but Citacious introduces it gradually and always in the context of your specific situation.

User-Instance Locking: Your Data Stays Yours

We want to be transparent about an important security change in this update. Citacious is now completely locked to your account instance. Her system instructions are built server-side from your actual Firestore data — she receives no instructions from the client side at all.

What this means in practice: there's no way for the AI to be tricked into referencing another user's data, and there's no way to inject custom instructions that override her guidance. She knows exactly whose account she's working with, and all her advice — every specific number, every metric, every recommendation — comes from your data only.

Try Her With a Real Question

The best way to see the difference is to just ask her something specific. Try: "What should I be focusing on right now?" — she'll look at your actual account state and tell you. Not a list of five generic things to do. The one thing that matters most for where you are today.

We think you'll notice the difference immediately.
